Are Greece and south Korea competent for Argentina?

Group B consists of these four teams: Argentina, Nigeria, South Korea and Greece. And there is no doubt in saying that Maradona’s Argentina is defenately going to the second round.

It may be funny but true that Diego Maradona has declared that he would run nude through the streets if Argentina wins the World Cup. So according to Maradona wishing Argentina for passing the knockout round is a silly thing.

Lionel Messi has proved himself as one of the top players, if not the best, in world football. Diego Milito has been on fire all season at Inter Milan. Those two are projected starters up front but the bench is even more frightening. Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero and Gonzalo Higuain could all easily start up front for any of the other three teams in Group B.

Greece and South Korea has a little possibility of success while they have argentina to compete for. Greece Is an Otto Rehhagel's team. They were the shock winner at the 2004 Euros but since then the Greeks have been less than impressive. They did not make it to Germany in 2006 and in the 2008 Euros, they had a less than stellar performance.

The illuminating Greek players are: Vasilis Torosidis, Theofanis Gekas, Sotirios Kyrgiakos

South Korea is not a bad team but not a good team as well. They can not maintain consistency.

Park Ji-Sung is the captain of the squad and also one of the veteran leaders. How Park orchestrates the outside with the services for the forwards will be a huge key to the team's success in South Africa. Nwankwo Kanu is a strong veteran presence in the Nigerian team and is also one of the most famous African footballers on the continent. That combination could lead Kanu to score a very important goal to lead an African to the knockout stage. Taye Taiwo is poised to breakout. He is one of the the best young defenders not playing in the big three leagues. Playing at Marseille, Taiwo has already expressed that he would like to stay at the Ligue 1 club, but as the case is with many other young players, if a big club comes calling with big bucks, there is a better chance they leave.

Nigeria or The Super Eagles might be the team which may lit the light of winning the world cup.In group B they comes next to Argentina. With the a good mix of experience and youth in Lars Lagerback's squad, there is hope that Nigeria could advance out of the group as long as they score half as much than the Argentines are expected to.

Lee Dong-Guk is finally looking for his chance to shine in a World Cup after missing 2006 with an injury and not making the 2002 squad. Lee is one of the older players in the tournament that will be most likely playing in his last World Cup.Lee Chung-Yong is the Bolton Wanderers forward is part of the new generation of South Korean stars to make it to big European clubs and could be a good complement to Park Ji-Sung in the midfield.

2nd- Nigeria

Argentina, The champions of 1978 and 1986—are still top favourite

Argentina, which is the runners-up in the first World Cup, has continued their forms. Argentina were champions in 1978 and 1986 and were about to own the trophy in 1990 before losing 1-0 to West Germany in the final. They are still one of the most favourite teams in the world cup 2010.

But the scenery has changed a lot from the past. When Argentina won in 1986, the tricks were very simple- just give the ball to Maradona, so El Diego can be forgiven for struggling with the finer points of football playing systems. Now the coach Maradona may have planned many other tricks to win the trophy.

Argentina team is also known as- La Albiceleste, after their famous white and sky-blue shirts.

The most favourite player in this world cup is Lionel Messi who is the 865th new Maradona and the only one to deserve the tag. Argentina has built their team around him and there is no way of denying his importance. Once he has the ball, it needs to pass it through the goal post. The 22-year-old winger Angel di María's skill and ability to score from distance have seen his price tag rise to £35m, which puts him at the lower end of City's budget.Gabriel Heinze never met a shinbone he didn't want to nestle his studs into and when he sought a move to Liverpool he became a hate figure for Manchester United fans.

Argentina team is very much appreciated for their team management. Maradona has not been steady but the attacking possibilities are fabulous, with Messi accompanied by Sergio Agüero and Carlos Tévez. We can hope for an excellent performing Argentina in world cup 2010.
