The expensive tickets are unaffordable for the ordinary Africans.

Fans across the continent had to scramble for tickets world cup football 2010 with their families, friends and companions all over the world, particularly Europe and America who have wider access to the Internet for selling tickets.

It was always going be a tough call for most Africans, who have to battle everyday struggles, who live from hand to mouths, to be able to purchase tickets, viewed as relatively exorbitant. A ticket for the final costs P6,300 and it would be very tough for the ordinary Africans to afford this much. What did FIFA do to ensure that Africans enjoy the tournament as truly theirs? It is not unknown that the majority of matches will be watched by mostly Europeans and Americans.

Mmegi news editor, Tshireletso Motlogelwa says his ticket had to come all the way from the United States as he could not purchase it online. Africans were expected to compete on an equal footing with the rest of the World. However, South Africans were able to buy tickets over the counter and theirs was a much simpler task, but they have few bruises to show from the scramble. Is it fare at all for the Africans?
