Semi final prediction: world cup 2010

Brazil beating England

May be this also England would have to face a tragedy of leaving world cup in the semi final. In fact they have to face Brazil there which is the strongest team in world cup. And Brazil is very much desperate about winning the world cup. So it is clear that Brazil is going to finals.

Portugal beating Germany

This may sound odd but I believe that Portugal is really going to show some magic in the world cup 2010. This will be probably the best match of the tournament. I think this would be decided in the penalty shoot out. And I do believe that Portugal will win the match.

Final and the third place prediction

Portugal beating Brazil!

This may sound really funny to many. But as I believe that Portugal is really going to some magic in the world cup. World cup trophy is not the just the trophy, it’s also the pride that’s at stake. One would dread to be on the losing side here. Brazil is too much desperate to win the trophy. But may be they have to control their temptation of the trophy this time.

There is something that tells me that Portugal will win the world cup trophy 2010.

Third place:

England beats Germany:

May be England won’t have to be very much disappointed as they might win the third place quite easily.

This may seem odd to many. I am a Brazilian supporter. So I just wish that my prediction goes wrong.

Quarter final prediction

England beating Mexico

Though Mexico is a good team, I don’t think they might be able to beat England in the quarter final. England has a stronger team this time.

Brazil beating Netherlands

Again, I’m making a bold prediction here. It’s not about Brazil winning but it’s about how easily they would beat Netherlands. There is no doubt that Brazil is gonna win this match.

Germany beating Argentina

I admit that Argentina wants the trophy at any cost. But something tells me that they are going to be beaten by Germany. Their overconfidence perhaps might be a cause for their elimination in the quarter final.

Portugal beating Italy

The top-top favourites Italy and Portugal. I really think that Portugal is gonna beat Spain.

2nd round prediction:

I guess in this world cup history is not a big matter. Any magic can happen in 2010 world cup . the 2nd round prediction is somewhat like this.

Mexico beating Greece

I don’t see has a chance to beat Mexico in the world cup. I think Mexicans have too much quality in them to win the match easily.
England beating Australia

England has to progress this stage pretty comfortably if Capello has to justify any of this remuneration package. I think they would get past Australia comfortably.

Germany beating United States
Germany is a very tricky team. They have great coordination among the players. So think they could easily beat United States.

Argentina beating France
Argentina just wants the world cup trophy or nothing. Though France has a wonderful world cup career, I don’t think they can stand in front of Argentina.

Netherlands beating Paraguay
I expect Netherlands to come out all guns blazing and knocking all the confidence out of their opponent by the half time. This is as much as they can get without Robben. They are getting past Paraguay without breaking a sweat.

Brazil beating Chile
The statement of brazil this time is” either world cup trophy or nothing” they might not face that much difficulty to beat chili.

Italy beating Denmark

Italy is much more stronger than Denmark. So no doubt that they are gonna win this round.

Portugal beating Spain
The battle of the neighbors would clearly show how far these teams are in terms of football ability. Though Spain is a strong team, something tells me that they might be beaten by Portugal.

USA team squad

United States in the Group C with England, Algeria and Slovenia. America is facing England for the first time. The eastern Europeans are historically rivals of the US team. They have a 23 squad team who are very much optimistic for a huge success in the world cup 2010.

The team is like the following:

Goalkeepers
Tim Howard of Everton is the number one goalkeeper for the US. Brad Guzanis another one.

Defenders
This is the weakest side in the US team. AC Milan center back Oguchi Onyewu is finally back from a torn patellar tendon but the rust of missing seven months has shown in the US’ last two friendlies. There is also the problem at left back. US fans bemoan the fact that Bradley has confidence in Jonathan Bornstein. Somehow, the Chivas USA man continues to see time at that spot. Team captain Carlos Bocanegra had an injury-riddled year at Rennes and is not the fleetest of foot however there is still the chance that Bradley slots Bocanegra into that left back spot with Onyewu who will be along side Watford’s Jay DeMerit with West Ham United man Jonathan Spector or Hannover 96 player and veteran Steve Cherundolo at right back. Clarence Goodson is an able reserve and can come off the bench and provide danger on set pieces with his lean frame.

Midfielder
This is the strongest side of the team. The most recognizable player wearing a US jersey is Landon Donovan who plays as an attacking midfielder. Donovan will likely be joined in attack by Fulham’s Clint Dempsey who works well with the LA Galaxy player. Central midfielder and coach’s son Michael Bradley will assuredly be in the starting 11 however it remains to be seen who will be paired with the younger Bradley. Maurice Edu is one candidate who has plenty of experience playing in big matches with Rangers in Scotland. Edu is a tough defensive midfielder that can still get forward and score goals. Jose Torres was the best US player on the field in the friendly last week versus Turkey and could also receive a starting nod. Torres is a favorite of US fans for his poise and composure over the ball, a quality lacking in many US players. The possession midfielder may also be the best at free kicks for the US team. Another appealing option off the bench is three-time World Cuper DaMarcus Beasley who is speedy and has plenty of experience on the world’s largest stage.

Forwards
Last summer at the Confederations Cup, the revelation for the US squad was striker Charlie Davies whose quickness frustrated the Spanish team during the US’ upset 2-0 victory. However an auto accident in October injured Davies and ultimately the Sochuax player did not receive medical clearance from his club to participate this summer. So one of the big questions facing Bradley was who would be paired with Jozy Altidore up top? The candidates that emerged were three players all viewed as darkhorses at making the squad just months ago: Robbie Findley, Herculez Gomez and Edson Buddle. Out of the three, Findley has the most speed and showed well versus Turkey. Buddle has a good rapport with Donovan as both men play at the Galaxy while Gomez tied for the league lead in goals scored this past season at Mexico. Most likely versus England, Bradley will pair Altidore with Findley as speed and coverage appear to be the name of the game for the US team.

We may now hopefully wish—good luck USA.

Can we expect England to win the World Cup 2010?

England has a very tragic record during last world cups. They were knocked out in the quarter-finals six times, the semi-finals once and won it in 1966 when King Harold took an arrow in the eye for the lads. They have a forty four years frustration regarding world cup.

The team is also known as- The Three Lions – a marketing man's overhaul of the old Ingerland brand.

But England team consists of several fabulous superstars. Wayne Rooney has evolved from a spud-faced nipper with a cocker spaniel's inability to leave any ball unchased and a turbulent temper that endangered Portuguese testicles into a truly world-class spud-faced forward who has harnessed his skills and drive. All this and the swashbuckler's natural, off-the-cuff talent to make defenders look as if they're playing in lead boots, too. David James is willing to shift his Chopper collection and begin a painstaking search for a visually-impaired Bolton barber.

However, Fabio Capello is accompanied by a fear that the squad is too thin to withstand much adversity. If Wayne Rooney stayed fit, England team has a big possibility go forward. But if he gets injured there is no alternative replacement of Roonie in England team .

England may face vulnerable situation

Wayne Rooney Hope Powell believes England must be able to cope with Wayne Rooney who may suffer an injury during World Cup 2010.

It is heard that everyone is not happy with the team management. Even the recent reports of players are not satisfying at all. Their preparation is most probably not up to the mark. The debate goes to the selection process as well. Most coaches can tell us their first-choice team but the bigger picture is providing cover.

God forbid, if Wayne Rooney gets injured , there has no centre-forward to replace him. The whole world knows about Rooney and he is going to get marked and targeted.A lot of hidden factors go into selection decisions. In such a specific environment as a World Cup there are reasons why some players get picked and it is not always about technical ability.

There is no denying fat that World Cup football is seriously tough. The jump between club and country is huge. The expectations for England to do well and win a major tournament are enormous. The newspapers, the fans – it is a lot for players to deal with – and difficult for players to cope.

In tournament football anything can happen .But team England has a possibility to face a vulnerable situation. Nevertheless, we can wish all the very best for England during world cup 2010.

“Not Italy---England will win the tournament” –Luca Toni

Luca Toni has claimed that England will be the winner of the World Cup as he shows bitterness at being left out of the Italy squad by Marcello Lippi.Toni, who returned to Serea with Roma to boost his chances of a World Cup appearance, was omitted from the provisional Azzurri squad when Lippi announced it last month.

And he is depressed with the decision so much. For this reason he wants England, not Italy, to win the world cup. But he also announced that he is going to miss his teammates.
At club level Toni discovered him at another crossroads. He admits going back to Bayern Munich is unlikely.

Moreover he declares that prefers Italy to stay in.
